Is it possible a car accident could make my stutter worse? Feel like I'm going crazy my stutter has slowly been getting worse and worse ever since my car accident in September 2019. A week after the accident when I got back into work I found it harder to have the confidence to start a conversation due to just stuttering more for some reason. It was a similar case when talking on the phone in work I just found I stuttered more and then everytime I need to go on the phone I get super anxious so I don't know if its a cycle that makes it worse. Could it be the car accident had anything to do with it? Another car hit me at motorway speeds causing my car to go crashing into the left barrier hard. I didn't need to go to the hospital after and was pretty much unscathed luckily apart from a sore back and neck the next day. I remember giving a small presentation 2 months before in front of 10 people pretty much fluently and now when faced again in the same room I'm afraid to even speak and give input in case I stutter. I also remember ordering takeout on the phone fluently now when saying the exact same words I have block stutters, even though I practice without a phone and can say it fluently. Is there anyone who faced anything similar after a car accident, it sounds stupid but I was told I may have suffered from ptsd which was due to the accident and may be causing my speech issues. Edit: Also I did have a stutter before the accident to make it clear its just gone worse
