I only have "blocks" not stutters. I do not block when I am calm (at all), I can talk one on one with someone for hours and maybe have 1 or 2 blocks (but I typically am able to choose an alternate word fast enough for this to not be a problem).

I only have "blocks" not stutters. I do not block when I am calm (at all), I can talk one on one with someone for hours and maybe have 1 or 2 blocks (but I typically am able to choose an alternate word fast enough for this to not be a problem). I will have blocks in a group setting, when public speaking, etc. I've never understood why this happens. Anyone relate or have literature I can turn to? The worst part about this is that once when I was much younger (in Grade 8) I had the chance to speak with a speech therapist and when I did my interview with her at school I did not stutter *at all* and she determined I don't stutter. Anyone have any literature that points to what I have? Anyone relate?
