Hey man, my situation is similar to yours. I don’t ever remember stuttering as a kid, my stutter didn’t really develop until I was maybe like 17-18. I’m 22 now and i still have it. In regards to some insights, I will tell you two things I do in regards to trying to improve on my fluency every day: 1. I like to read out loud to a metronome for at least 20 minutes a day. I read one syllable per beat, on the beat. Us stutterers have a weak internal timing circuit, but we do have a strong external timing circuit, hence why we usually don’t stutter when talking in unison with someone else. Someone on this sub told me that reading out loud to a metronome helps strengthen our weak internal timing circuits over time, thus helping our stutter and block over time. 2. I avoid porn and masturbation at all costs. I know this sounds controversial, but those two things are both unnecessary, high dopamine inducing activities to the brain. It has been shown that us stutterers have overactive dopamine circuits in certain areas in our brain, so I have removed those two things from my life in hopes of achieving fluency. That’s just some of my insight, because in my mind, I want to overcome my stutter. I hope this helps and best of luck.
