I've never "naturally" met a person who stutters before I joined the National Stuttering Association. As /u/ziggyjoe212 mentioned, you should check out the NSA. It was completely life changing for me. I can stutter openly without being embarrassed. Now almost all of my friends are people who stutter. It's like we have an instant connection due to our speech.
