Do you remember how you created feared words or feared situations? We have stuttered often - on the words (or in the situations) that we fear, and eventually we became consciously aware of this. We then created a story - in our mind - about these feared words (or feared situations), for example: * when I was 8 years old, I always told myself repeatedly that the /P/ is difficult to say, for the only reason - that the plosive letter /P/ - sounds like an explosion (*weird way to create a feared sound, right?*) * when I was 10 years old, I changed my story that the /P/ is easy, but now I convinced myself that the /A/ is difficult for the only reason that I cannot see my throat in the mirror * when I was a kid, I convinced myself that I can't sing fluently because singing is basically the same as speaking. So, I always stuttered when singing, only because I created some logic behind my story of the feared situation leading me to thrive on obsessional doubt and possibility. Feared words (or situations) lead to a loss of control, which is a [serious concern](https://www.google.com/search?q=%22loss+of+control%22+%22stuttering%22) in people who stutter **Question: Do you remember the story-telling behind your own feared words (or situations)?** [View Poll](https://www.reddit.com/poll/17az55s)
