Thank you so much for sharing your experience and input! I suppose it reminds me of the general quote that it's gonna get a lot worse before it gets better until I feel relaxed and get used to the job role that I must've been chosen for a reason. I definitely agree that putting on a singing voice does eradicate the stutter momentarily. I also suppose majority of phone callers should hopefully be decent and not take out their frustrations on having a bad day or whatever onto me! It did mean a lot to be constantly told by my speech therapist that people will see me for me that my stutter is just a "thing" to them that it doesn't make me any less of a bad communicator to talk to that I'm at least beginning to maintain good eye contact and I don't interrupt people when they're speaking to me unlike some non-stutterers. You do have a point that I'm putting in a lot of energy of stressing about the idea of phone calls rather than training my mind to see it naturally that I'm not going into war for this.
