What’s the nicest thing someone has ever said to you about your stutter? For me, back in college I was a bus boy for this local upscale seafood place, and in the private room, there was a formal meeting going on for a pharmaceutical company. Fast forward to clearing the dinner plates, I was asking people if they needed a box for leftovers. Well this one guy noticed that I had stuttered. So I go about my business, I take the tray of dirty plates away to the back. The one server who was running the room said someone from that room wanted to speak with me. I go out, and it’s that guy. He says to me that he was proud of me because of what I was doing since I stutter. He said that he stuttered when he was younger, and that he could relate to me. Throughout the conversation we had, he was near tears. He thanked me for my service, and gave me a $15 tip. He didn’t have to do that, but I told him that I appreciated it.
