33 yo person with stutter here. At 12-17 stuttering seemed like the biggest problem in my life. I had a group of close friends but making new friends was the fcking hardest. I had so many witty funny things I wanted to say but didn't because people had mocked my stutter in the past. As you grow older you realize there are people who like you for who you are rather than how you speak/look etc. And these are the people you need in life. Having a few good friends who will create a sense of security for you to take steps to make new friends is key. Also, if you feel safe and trust your friends, I recommend sharing some of your struggles with your close friends. They can help you navigate social situations and step in if you need a quick verbal rescue. You got this! :)
