Blocking is actually a more “severe” form of stuttering. It happens bc you are so fearful of ppl hearing your repetitions, you try very hard (too hard!) to hide them. That causes the block. Terms to look up - covert stuttering, valsalva as a cause of blocks (William parry, SLP), voluntary repetitions I’d hold off on any medications until you learn about the whole process from a SLP who *specializes in dysfluency!*. If you cannot find/afford one, Tim Mackesey, SLP, has a free podcast. Start at the first episode and be prepared to be understood, do some scary work, and relisten as often as necessary.
