No. In junior school I was naturally shy and just had a few very close friends. My stutter didn't fully develop until age 7. Then I began trying to hide it by speaking incredibly fast. So I thus also developed cluttering and people had trouble understanding me. I could kind of hide it if I only said a few words, so after a while I just didn't speak very much. I had private speech therapy at about 8, but it didn't help me at all. In high school I was VERY odd. Quiet, cripplingly self-conscious, and had no friends for a few years. The school expressed concern (private all girls school) and offered counselling, but I was already so embarrassed that I just didn't want any extra weirdness or attention on me. So I pretended I was fine.
