Anybody who used Piracetam?

Anybody who used Piracetam? I was prescribed Piracetam(liq) as a child for my stutter, but die to the bitter taste i used to skip my doses now a nd again, untill I stopped using it. Im wondering if as an adult, would it still work on me. I know its only symptomatic treatement, also mention any side effects that you encountered. What other drugs can I use.
