I believe that I was born with one. I had meningitis as a child and that left me mute. I didn't say my first words until I was 4 years old. As soon as I started speaking, I had a stutter. I had speech therapy in elementary and middle school and it went away, and I decided that I didn't need it in high school. BIG MISTAKE. Around 11th grade my stutter started coming back and by the time I started college, I was really insecure about it and made it even worse. Now I'm 21 and I'm still struggling to slow down when I talk and I'm having blocks.
