Experience I just had I’m at work (OS assistant, clinic is closed so I’m just answering phones and BSing), and the phone rings and it’s a man named Dan trying to schedule a cleaning. I have a stutter, so answering phones sucks as I’m sure you all know too well. As Dan’s trying to speak and explain what he wants he stalls and blocks through his sentences and I can tell he’s having really bad anxiety getting through this. We eventually get to the end of the call and his speech was flawless during the “ok have a good day, bye” part. I know it was probably such a fucking drag having to call and try to schedule an appointment for him, but I also know it was a huge accomplishment and something he’s probably immensely proud of on the inside. It’s just nice to know that I’m not the only one who struggles with this, and has a hard time making phone calls. So Dan in WA, if you see this know I’m with ya buddy and I hope you’re proud of yourself, because I am and I know how hard that was for you.
