To me it is a monster, because the stuttering affliction destroyed much of my life. I would have loved to have become a music teacher/band director as that is my passion, but I couldn't. It affected my confidence in terms of making friends and dating. But now I do understand that the negative thoughts can be starved if I don't give them attention. And by doing this I will change as a person for the better.
