I saw your other comments man and first I want to say: please ask for help. If this becomes a life long stutter, you are going to wish you reached out to someone sooner. Don’t be afraid of your parents reaction or whether they think you are faking it. Just ask if you can see an SLP for an assessment because you noticed your stutter has become more severe recently. If your parents think you are faking it, that is another serious conversation you should have with them. They are on your team man, so don’t be afraid to speak up for yourself. I think you might be a stutterer if you’ve always stumbled over your words. Yes, it’s normal for anyone to have disfluencies in regular speech, but how frequent it has always been is something you should take note of. When this person pointed out your irregular speech and you became self conscious about it is another issue as well. I think your focus switch from the content of your speech to how you were speaking. Imagine sharing a message but trying to avoid any possibility of stammering - you’d probably resort to circumlocution or any other means while speaking. This puts a lot of pressure on yourself, your speech motor system, and probably creates a lot of anxiety in the process as well. This could be why it’s worsening in severity. You’ve become more self aware and are attempting to avoid stuttering in general, which puts an extra mental load and stress on you. I don’t know for sure but what do you think?
