High achieving white collar technical worker with stutter, feels like management or leadership is out of reach 27 year old. Six figure salary, two engineering degrees, PE licensure, and MBA. Working as a senior analyst at crossroads of traditional engineering and tech at a Fortune 500 company. I think I’m obviously capable and I work really hard. I’ve tried speech therapy, didn’t do much. Stutter is really difficult during remote meetings and conversations. Phone calls suck. Feels like I’ll never advance beyond a senior technical role regardless of my credentials. My goal is to me one of the first C-suite business leaders of a major company with a significant speech disorder. Wished I did a medical professional or similar where once you have those credentials (MD, for example), you are set. Not consistently judged on participation during meetings. I’m on FIRE (financial independence, retire early) path because of this. I’m convinced I should start my own company at home that caters to my strengths. Partly venting, partly asking for advice.
