I get what you mean. I see it both ways. Like I said I used to just giggle and walk away, but it would leave me feeling like shit literally all day long. I feel I’m on top of the world, speaking well, then something like that drops me down. I’m just saying there’s no need for comments like that at all in the work place. Outside of work sure joke around as much as you want. If I walk into a workplace and leave in a terrible mood, that is they’re problem, and they need to address it. Think of every other issue out there. Blind people have Braille, handicap people have handicap ramps, workers have sexual harassment training so they don’t accidentally make communication that is more important than the content and get fired. Literally every other person with a disability gets help somehow but what do we as stutterers get? Laughed at? That’s fun. I can write down my order on a piece of paper and just hand it to them like I used to, but I prefer to practice my speech in hopes of getting better. Jokes like that are not ok in this day an age.
