FluencyShaping.com | FREE Resource for PWS Hello All, I'm proud to announce the official launch of [FluencyShaping.com](https://FluencyShaping.com)! This free resource is intended to help People Who Stutter apply a technique called Fluency Shaping which in my own experience has been tremendously helpful in managing my own stutter. This therapy plan is based on my time spent with Dr. Peter Ramig (Speech Pathologist / CU Boulder) when I was younger, as well as the work of Dr. William Perry (Valsalva Hypothesis / Self-Help) which I've been studying since 2015. In summary, this tool provides a set of predefined exercise "routines" that are aimed to provide structure and focus during each therapy session. Think of it like a speech therapy personal trainer! **Structure** Words are generated based on a given criteria and displayed in a timed manner, think of each word as being a "digital flash card". For example, the system could generate 5 words that contain the "D" consonant and the "I" vowel sound. **Focus** Each "step" in a given exercise routine is assigned criteria similar to the above, with the idea being that every practice session should have an even distribution of vowel and consonant sounds. Additionally, this approach avoids reading material that would otherwise distract the user. **Feedback & Other Thoughts** My sincere hope is that others will find this application useful. This is actually my second attempt launching this service -- initially I had planned to make this a "gated off" tool for use directly by Speech Language Pathologists. I found, however, in my initial efforts that it was quite difficult to find therapists who dealt with Stuttering at all! As a result I picked up a day job and went to work making this more of an open platform. While I do have aspirations of "white labeling" this tool for use in other areas (lisping, accent reduction, etc) I plan to keep this 100% free for People Who Stutter. I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback on this tool and would appreciate any thoughts on other ways that I can get this thing "out there". Thanks for reading and I hope you find it useful!
