I’m an appliance technician. I do service calls and fix and re sell washers/dryers on the side. In high school I was a big science and math nerd and didn’t think I would be in the trades. But it’s good money and the interaction I get with customers is very minimal. Over time as I have gotten more comfortable with my job my stutter has improved a lot. Us stutters grow up spending alot of time in our heads thinking about the next word we are about to say. So for me I love my job since a lot of it involves solving issues on the fly on my own. I’ve never had a customer look at me weird or be inpatient for having a stutter because they can tell I’m acting in good faith and being genuine. That’s what matters more to people then if you have a stutter or not!
