That's the 1 million dollar question. Should we or shouldn't we aim for stuttering recovery or fluency? Often, if we desire more fluency, we'll stutter more \[fluency is a **trigger**\]. Traditional speech therapies then advocate that focusing on fluency might be bad. But on the other hand, if we chorally read in unison, and if this leads to fluent speech. Then we were actually focusing on maintaining fluency - basically we focused on maintaining the forward flow of speech over speech accuracy (for example, see the "fluency-speech accuracy" trade-off model). So, I think if 'fluency' is a **trigger** for stuttering (as explained above), shouldn't it then be helpful to expose ourselves to such triggers? (to learn to overcome them)
