Yea, using the technique of deliberate disfluency is difficult, but I feel like it always lessons my fear of speaking. And the more situations we do it in, the easier it becomes to do it again in other situations. The McGuire Program teaches that if we’re not willing to do deliberate disfluency and disclosure in all situations in our life, it makes us susceptible to relapse. So I’m working my way up my fear-ladder, gradually for it in more intense situations. And sometimes we’ll find ourselves in surprise situations that are significantly above our comfort zone, but it’s best that we do deliberate disfluency and disclosure in these situations. Or at the very least, a little deliberate disfluency. I don’t do as many contacts these days. However, I will sometimes purposely find ways use feared words throughout the day. I do have more contacts to do though. The last ones are for Japanese and Spanish sounds, so it’s been more difficult finding creative ways to do contacts on these sounds, because I live in an English-Speaking country. I study Japanese and Spanish, so that’s why I have these contacts to do to.
