I’d say take the job. Many / most jobs are given out because ‘somebody knows somebody.’ It’s largely the way the world works — relationships. Having a stutter you’re going to have to learn how to deal with other peoples $hit. That’s personal. You know your strengths and weaknesses so you know how you can best deal with it. When you can afford the time and money, find a speech therapy program you like. That is an individual choice. It will give you tools so you will feel less helpless. There is no cure, but you can manage it. Also eventually get some mental health therapy. Stuttering screws up your head, especially your self image. I recommend Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It is very practical. Make sure you pay particular attention to your self image. Good luck! I saw in one reply that you try and hide your stutter. That’s natural. Who is proud of it? Most of us try to hide our stutter, so don’t think bad about that aspect.
