Yes, thats exactly what I'm trying to tell you. You need be comfortable with yourself in whatever you're doing. I'm sorry you had to go through 'near total destruction' while trying to push yourself too hard. This is how most stutterers feel in varying degrees. It just seems you took it to the extreme. I too used to try to be perfectionist all the time, and that made my life living hell. I woke up each day dreading how other people will judge me, and how I'll fall short and embarass myself ........ till I met Chase.. He taught me that being authentic and comfortable in my skin in all I needed to do. Once I'm comfortable with myself, and how I speak, I can start expanding that comfort zone 'in MY terms'. Granted, my stutter is not as severe, except in high stress scenarios. Also it sounds like you have wealth of experience and preconceived ideas about yourself, both negative and positive. If you're not trying to overcome your stutter, and are comfortable the way you are, I don't understand why you're commenting here? You sounded like you're seeking help in your initial comment, so I tried to help. Apologies if that's not the case.
