You should feel no need to apologize for the words of others unless you purposefully took part in spreading them. In your reply, you’ve made the same mistake as OP; you’ve framed your unsubstantiated beliefs as if they apply to others. Those outside the church are not sinners as they do not believe in your specific definition of sin. This kind of framing, I would argue, is the reason these kinds of posts and comments are triggering to those who have realized they can live better and more fulfilling lives outside of blind faith. It’s especially egregious when it comes to disabilities as religion has been near-universally harmful to the human race in that respect.
