Oh my God, people. It’s not that easy. I’ve had many jobs over my lifetime, and even worked for a major airline, and was an aircraft mechanic in the air force. Interviews have never bothered me, although my stutter is very severe. In fact, prior to one year ago, I’d never not received a job for which I’d interviewed. Last year, I figured I’d go back to work, following a ten year hiatus. I applied to be a letter carrier with Canada Post. I applied, aced the aptitude testing, dazzled the recruiter via email to the point they called the interview “a mere formality”. I did the interview with a man who was very understanding of my stutter. He told me at the end that I had done extremely well, and how impressed he was with my responses and determination. Then, I never heard from them. Thinking that was a one-off, I applied with a charity, driving a truck to pick-up donations. Nearly the exact same thing happened. I just said fuck it. I don’t absolutely need to work, so if no one wants me, I won’t. I hold a lot of qualifications, and have an excellent work record, which includes a few very desirable employers. Something is different. This is not the OP’s fault. The employment landscape has changed.
