Stuttering bleeding into second language I (21M) am a 4th year student studying Spanish language and literature in university, so normally I've never had any problems with stuttering while speaking Spanish, I think mainly because it's so different from my normal way of speaking in English. However, in my linguistics class earlier this week I raised my hand to answer a question and had a really bad stammer during what I was saying (in Spanish). Aside from it being mortifying having that happen in front of the entire class, it was pretty alarming considering I've never had issues with it in the past. Maybe it's due in part to my increasing fluency, which caused my brain to fall back to stuttering patterns. Also, my stutter/stammer has never been very severe in recent years, but I have noticed that it's been happening a lot more frequently in the last year or 2, probably due to stress with graduating college and career building and all that. Anyways, I just thought it was interesting that this happened and was wondering if anyone had any insight about it.
