As far as presentations…Not really. At least not in my experience after elementary school. It’s part of the grade. I had to learn to calm myself and keep my speech under control (practicing infront of a mirror until I “had it” really helped. It prepared me for life, so looking back I see the value in it. As for class readings, etc…there was much more variance. I’d never volunteer to read aloud, and some teachers would respect that. One time in English class, another classmate “volunteered” me to read the part of Othello. The teacher looked at me, I slightly shook my head, and she moved to someone else. Other times in other classes, teachers made sure everyone participated.
