It happens mee too, i think it is because the more high you speak, more tension is in your throat. I also noticed that when I shout (because noisy environment, not angry), i stutter a lot more, must bee for this reason. I've readed Marylin Monroe used this trick to avoid stammering and this is why she talked so low in movies.
