Tips/advice for dealing with stuttering at new job? Hey all. I just got a new job at a small business 3 weeks ago. Essentially I am in charge of customer service. I work in an office, so every phone call that comes to the company w/o an extension comes to me. And I'm the one in charge of contacting customers if something goes wrong. I stutter the worst on the phone. Most of my co-workers seem fine and understanding about it, but on the phone with customers it's the worst. Today I kept getting asked, "I didn't understand you?" or "What was that?" It kinda drives me nuts. My stuttering had been getting a lot better, but when I got this job it got a lot worse. What should I do? It's a good job I want to keep, and for the most part I enjoy it, But I also see how they can lose value with me being a stutterer and also the front-end of customer service. Sometimes I wish everyone would just use email.
