What I mean is that I often see the idea expressed here that working toward fluency itself is harmful, or that aiming to reduce stuttering is a kind of self-rejection. I disagree with that. Acceptance and self-worth matter, but so does recognizing that fluency can be a legitimate, healthy goal for some people. Treating the pursuit of fluency as inherently misguided or damaging is the anti-fluency sentiment I was referring to.
