Work at a fast food place and over a couple of years of working there have been asked where I'm from three or four times... I tend to block and elongate but they're so quick and so often it could sound like an accent. One guy even said "I don't believe you" when I told him I was from Texas (where I live). I think accents are cool so I'll take it as a compliment and the one good thing that's come from having a stutter.
