Do you tell strangers you have a stutter or just assume they’ll be patient?

Do you tell strangers you have a stutter or just assume they’ll be patient? I’m a bartender and my stutter has improved since I was child, but I still get stuck with a few sounds and syllables. It’s awkward when I can’t tell a customer their tabs is $66 or whatever. I want to know if you all think it’ll help to say “excuse my stutter” or something similar. Normally I just try to avoid words that start with S or embrace the awkwardness but I want to hear other people’s experience with it
