Studying abroad and not stuttering Hello guys, I just wanted to share a story with you, which I think might be an interesting take on stuttering. I have used to stutter quite a bit, sometimes it was better, sometimes worse, and sometimes so bad that I was not able to order a drink at the bar. I still remember the moment when we were at a Christmas party with my work (in Hasbro at that time) and it got so bad that my kind colleague had to order a drink for me :( I am not sure what was the reason then, but probably high stress from combining work and difficult studies. Since then it was never that bad but I was not too good either. During my last undergraduate year, it got much better but it was far from perfect. However, the stuttering disappeared \*almost\* completely when I started studying abroad in Sweden. To me, it feels like it allowed me to build a different persona, a persona that does not stutter, and that seems to be working. During the two months, I am in Sweden, I have yet to stutter once. Whenever the feeeling of stuttering creeps in (happens rarely) I tell myself that \*insert my name\* in Sweden does not stutter. Strangely enough, when I went for a week to Czechia, I stuttered a bit. It is really weird. But to me there might be a suggestion for you, It might be worth it to completely change the environment to one where no one knows anything about you, where you can write your own story and make yourself know in a way you want people to know you. Thoughts? Btw keep going strong. Stuttering is a bitch I know it too well.
