Use that good money you’re making to invest in yourself. You can do this in a couple of ways: first look for a good therapist, not a speech therapist, but a psychologist. This will help on two fronts, you will force someone to listen to you and allow you to speak with no judgment once a week, and it will get you talking more and use to talking to a stranger. Second the therapist may be able to help you with your mental health, which can help you in many ways. Second I would try to think of a hobby that you personally would like to do, ideally a hobby that will require you to leave your home. If you can find a hobby that you’re passionate about, chances are there are other people that are similarly as passionate. Eventually you could engage in shared activities surrounding the hobby with other enthusiasts. This is usually a much more comfortable setting because adults that are into a hobby are usually very friendly to other enthusiasts no matter what. For example, let’s say you want to try out archery, you could invest in the equipment and classes. And maybe in those classes there are people that like to get together and practice on the weekend, maybe they invite you, or maybe you get good enough you can join an amateurs league. These are the kind of things that can happen, not guaranteed of course. Regardless you’ll have to step outside your comfort zone, but I firmly believe non of us have to jump in the deep end when doing so. We can ease our way in, and I think one of the best ways to do that is engaging in something that you are passionate about.
