If I could give advice to myself back in high school, I would say to keep dedicating yourself to a sport and your school subjects, as these are some of the few things that earn people’s respect, regardless of whether you're a poor communicator or not. For example, when I was in high school, I earned admiration from people through chess and by taking care of my body and building muscle. Finally, one thing I unfortunately couldn't manage in high school was accepting my stutter, and I paid the price for not accepting it. Therefore, if you can always stay in good spirits, polite, and receptive with others, you'll be able to make friends with anyone who shares your interests, even if you stutter.
