Definitely the mental barriers to socializing stutterers like myself put in place to prevent prevent the discomfort of being mocked and judged. Things like refusing to go outside and talk to people and letting other people tell the waiter/waitress our order at restaurants. I believe there should be a focus on reintegrating stutterers who have socially isolated themselves into society. Anxiety and depression should be dealt with and hopefully overcome along the way.
