Stuttering, as such, is nothing. It doesn't cause mental and physical pain. BUT... If we're talking about stuttering and its impact on an individual's social life... That's different. Not to mention the fact that stuttering in many cases also causes so called accompanying psychological ailments (I made that up) like depression, phobias and others. I say this all the time and will stand by this opinion, but I would rather lose the ability to walk. Why? Because it's not something that affects a person's character. Plus, it's a disability that is visible, society is used to such disabilities. It's terrible, but I'd trade it in a heartbeat. That's how I feel.
