That’s unfortunate, and I’m so sorry about that. It’s not a pain reliever, it’s used as an anti-anxiety medication. I’m not here to defend myself and what people discuss with their physicians is between them privately. I’d like to at least counter any narrative that all medication with a public stigma attached to them is immediately bad. Yes, pharma has a terrible history of over prescribing due to incentives given at a time, especially painkillers in the US in the last 20 years, but now it’s slingshot in the other direction for those who need them that it’s depriving people of the care they need. I’m lucky I have a doctor who has worked with me for years and my regime is as needed. You could say the say things about over-prescribing anti-depressants too. I’ve never taken one nor do I need one. I’ve seen people whose life has turned around because of them. I’m not against them just because I don’t take them or don’t understand them, I have empathy and compassion for those who waited too long because they didn’t want to be labeled with the hurtful names or words they are assigned by speaking out.
