I have a severe stutter and they 100% do care. Anyone telling you otherwise is coping. I cant tell you how many times I caught people making fun of my stutter when they didn't think I was around. People here think just because most people wont laugh in your face that means they don't care about it. People think its okay to mock and bully stutterers. Its the only disability that is okay to mock.
