I moved into a new team at work some months ago. They have a monthly meeting, in which they ask new members to introduce themselves. I never stood up to introduce myself, and since I was never called out by the team leader I figured that by the time of the 4th meeting I had definitely gotten away with it. Nope, on this occasion he singled me out of the crowd and asked me to introduce myself. This caught me completely off guard, and I struggled immensely for several minutes before they finally said "alright it was a bit mean to pick on you like that" and moved on. Introductions are the absolute worst, my name is the single hardest thing for me to say.
