Find better friends. There is definitely hope. You have many resources as long as you are in the university system: 1. If there is a speech pathology department, ask them for therapy. That’s how I managed (not cured) my stutter. 2. Find an organization that will accept you as you are. For me that was a fraternity and swing dancing, but you can find your own niche. Talk with student activities. 3. Though it will be a lot of copium, university counseling can help with anxiety. I probably shouldn’t call it “cope”, but if they can’t directly help as much as the speech pathology folks, and they can’t, at least they can help indirectly. Above all, use all the resources you can while still in school. It is a whole different situation after graduation in the real world. Not bad, at all, but not as many readily available resources.
