Yea, I suppose I could word the last part better. What I mean is stuttering is not solely a physical issue, but rather a greater emotional-self identity issue. Also, per the original question - how are we defining intelligence? In psychology intelligence can be defined in quite a few mapped ways - such as spatial, body-athletics, intrapersonal, interpersonal, verbal, math, etc. etc. I think we all as humans have proclivity in one or more ways to be considered intelligent. Even savants are geniuses at certain things. I think the better question is what tendencies do people who stutter share and what does this tell us about stuttering in general? I know I was a sensitive little kid when my stuttering started. I definitely started to "care" what other people thought about me at a young age. I'm extroverted in a lot of ways but I definitely spend more time reflecting internally moreso because of my stuttering.
