Alright man I might be able to shed some light into this. I may or may not have gotten denied from 1 or 2 local law enforcement agencies because of my stutter. The psych tests didn't have anything related to stuttering. On a good note though, fuck my local pds. I just got hired as a border patrol agent, a federal leo job and I'll be using this as a stepping stone into the fbi, hsi, or the usss. My local agencies can suck my federal long dick of the law now. My stutter is mild at best and I can get my words out just fine. It's exacerbated in interview situations though and it gets a little bit harder for me. My first law enforcement position interview went terrible. It was so bad for one agency the dude asked me if he could tape record my interview. My background is clean. I just passed a 11 month top secret clearance investigation. That's how clean it is. I swear I only got denied because his bosses heard the interview and were like "no, fuck this guy we can't have him in." I tried explaining my stutter to the interviewer because he asked me about it. I just told him it's only during this interview and I'm fine otherwise. Also told him to cross reference my references for validity in that statement. Still denied. So your best bet is to practice your best for the interview, if you're straight in the head your psych test won't matter. They'll deny you for stuttering and won't even tell you so they can have their assess covered so you can't sue. I get it, a person with a stutter may be a liability in this field but I explained myself well. I'm a soldier and have gone through stressful situations and training where I had to communicate clearly just fine but i guess they didn't buy it. If the psych tests are anything like the agencies I applied to just when you're answering questions make sure it's the correct answer the first time or they'll grill you on why you changed your answer. Just focus on your interview skills and keep your stuttering hidden as best you can.
