I've stuttered since I was a kid and I'm almost 30 now. I stopped cared about it a LONG time ago. What a lot of people tend to forget is everyone has a flaw. Yeah some are way more prominent than others, but no one is without a flaw. Ours just happens to be our speech. My wife has fibermialga and every day it's a dice roll whether she's in constant pain or not. I'd much rather have my stutter than that. A lot of those on this sub are solely focused on their stutter and not anything else. It's like the stutter is their nemesis they HAVE to conquer or their world is doomed. That's just not the case. We can still live our lives pretty well. 99.9% of fluent speakers don't care if we stutter or not. They may make a face when hearing us, but most likely it's a shock factor. After that interaction they may tell their partner about it, then never remember it. If someone's an AH about it though, just remember it's not you. They'd be an AH no matter if you stuttered or not.
