Anyone have success with Toastmasters?

Anyone have success with Toastmasters? My dad used to go to toastmasters a lot and is trying to encourage me too, and I tried going once and everyone was nice- but I could never see myself giving a speech. I'm not scared of talking in front of people, which I think is what it's mostly about, but I am terrified of trying to communicate a point because I know I'd fail.
