I think that the majority of people don’t really understand stuttering and the different ways it can look. I had a classmate once who told me that I don’t stutter because they’ve seen The Kings Speech and I don’t talk like that. But they admitted that the way I speak is “weird” and they couldn’t quite put their finger on it. I’ve met people who I don’t mention my stutter to and they notice it. So it depends on the way a person stutters and what a non-stutterer can recognize as stuttering.
