Yes, anxiety makes stuttering worse. That's a wholly different thing than an anxiety disorder and that kind of pathologizing is dangerous. What evidence do you have it's very rare for PWS to not have an anxiety disorder? This is certainly not my experience and I've known many many stutterers. Stuttering is not merely a byproduct of hyper consciousness and anxiety disorder. I'm curious where you got this notion. Is it something you came up with yourself? Stuttering is a communication disorder. It involves miscoordinations between the brain and the muscles that produce speech. I sometimes stutter when I am alone. There is no anxiety and no self-consciousness. I know other PWS who do too.
