I've actually used an app kind of like this in the past that gives you something to read along to, which really helps me set a rhythm for my speech and maintain a smooth and consistent flow. However, the app isn't the greatest so it'd be super neat to have more apps of the same variation that users can choose from. I wish your friend all the best with his project!
