Took me 40 years to understand this, and i wish most people, esp youngsters would understand it, and not have to go through the pain and suffering i went through: making fluency your goal will ruin you! This is like chasing the ends of a rainbow Instead, here are some worthwhile goals that will enable you to live life to full potential: - Get rid of fear of judgement from others - embrace your stutter when you speak. the more you are open to stuttering, the less resistance you'll feel when speaking. I know this is wild - practice breathing and mindfulness.. this does wonders to increase your self-awareness, and deal with feelings of shame, and anxiety - find or create ways to speak and socialize.....
