He’s definitely on the right track. His research will open the door to further understanding of stuttering. It’s a good thing. There is new hope. So far, only speech therapy has been the available treatment and though helpful to many stutterers. It has only offered strategies to deal with stuttering. It hasn’t been the panacea for dealing with stuttering. Perhaps this medication-based treatment isn’t a panacea, perhaps there isn’t a panacea, but research into stuttering and a possible medical treatment is another tool in our toolbox toward fluency.
